Tips to decorate your room with Roxy Julia Bedding

It was really fun to decorate my room in Julia style. I brainstormed so many décor ideas and my husband finally chose the first one below. Colored bedding like Julia looks beautiful only with matching accessories. So even if you don’t have time to make every single thing in your bedroom go with the bedding, scroll down to find one single thing that can make it all.

Since lime green is the color which appears very less in the bedding, a wise décor idea would be to make use of this color as much as possible for the rest of the bedroom.

Some basic tips to remember

Lime green is looks very youthful and does not consume space. So it can be generously used throughout the room.

Also, don’t waste your money buying curtains or wallpapers in floral designs.  Except a few, most of the rest will not go with an already floral themed bedding.

The décor idea which my husband liked

• He didn’t prefer the décor which was in the picture as he wanted to be creative especially with such bedding which gave so much scope for creativity.

• The wall behind the bed can be painted with lime green. Instead of a usual plain color coat, you can give the walls a crinkle paper effect. This effect can be easily created with the help of tissue paper if you are painting the wall yourself. If you are hiring a painter, inquire if he can do the effect for you.

• It would be great if you paint the other walls with the same mild turquoise as in the bedding. But do not go for any blue which is even slightly different. The walls can very well stay white.

Matching Curtains

The curtains can be plain. Since the wall where we had a window was in white, we made the curtain rod brown and our curtain turquoise. The curtain was self-designed.

• On the textured wall just behind the bedding we just had a decorative lampshade in chocolate brown. Don’t bother finding one in blue or green as it is really hard to find one that looks mature!
• On the wall opposite to the bed, we had five of our family photos neatly framed in blue and green.
• On the wall adjacent to the bed, we ordered a box shelf to be made. Box shelves are the best when you want to play with colors. We painted one box with blue, the next with green and the next with brown. I painted it myself and it came out really beautiful.

Matching Wall decal ideas

• You can paint one of the walls with “green leaf effect”  instead of the crinkle paper effect.  Paint the wall white. Draw the sketch of a tree like the one you see below.

• You can even purchase the wall decal and just stick it up within minutes. You can specify the color that you want while placing order. Choose lime green with chocolate brown .

Ideas for the floor…

Leave it as such if your floor is brown by nature. If it is white, you can choose to leave it or accent with a brown mat.

What kinds of artifacts look suit Julia Bedding?

We were lucky to find similar artifacts like the one you see in the picture. A pair of surfing board in blue and green. You can easily get a carpenter do it for you with the pieces of wood that remain as a waste.  You can get the beach slippers done too to highlight the spirit of Roxy Bedding.
